Great post. Conservatives are going to be the end of democracy in our country, if we don't watch out.

What a strange ignorant world you live. The economy is NOT Growing. What drugs are you on? Do you really not look out your window and se the world around you?

You look at the numbers from the top and say if all is good there then all is good. I look at the numbers that effect the real people, those who work for living and have to really work to get by.

Unemployment rates have not seen any significant decrease. There are not the needed jobs out there. They have yet to recover to the point they were at pre-Bush. That shows the economy to be hurting.

Look at the cost of living vs. average income numbers. The cost of living for an average is family is increasing much faster than the family's income level. That is not a sign of a healthy economy.

Sure Big Business is doing well. They keep increasing prices and not increase pay and so they make more money. Their stock goes up and the rich get richer as the middle and lower class end up getting walked all over.

You can not really measure the strength of the economy by how well the rich are doing.

You helped to make one point I stated in my post though. Big Business can afford ot drop prices and increase wages without really being hurt right now. This would fix the real economy, but big business thinks like you do and does not care at all about what is really needed to help the country. They will bring us down in order to make those extra few bucks.

You have no clue at all of the long term effects of what is going on right now. You are more than willing to sacrifice the future for the here and now. that is what I keep seeing with conservatives. they do not care at all about the future and are willing to sacrifice everything for the most gain in the present, even if it does mean ruin in the next decade.

And wow, our deficit is not going to be as much as we thought. That is meaningless. If it meant actually solving the real issue our country is facing I would be all for a higher deficit right now. All that really means is that the government did not spend as much as it had planned. And we are not doing any better for it.

The war is raising gad prices. Another example of you being on some kind of drugs, or just not able to look beyond the BS Bush and his people are feeding you like vitamins. There may be other influences as well, but make no mistake what Bush did in Iraq has had a great impact on it all and has created much of the problem. Not sure what that has to do with the protesting of going to war with Iraq just to get control of their oil, which I never was saying anyway.

As for you trying to defend the idea of drilling in Alaska, that wouldn't solve anything at all. It is predicted that such drilling would only produce .7% of the need and would only last the USA about a year and half before it was all used up. There is really not that much that can be produced, but all those involved in creating the new system would profit greatly and go figure, those would be Bush supporters. So let's risk destroying an ecosystem and causing harm to wildlife to make some more money for Bush supporters and not really do anything that will noticeably help out the country itself. You see the facts are that no matter how careful you are in drilling oil, there are spills. It happens and it hurts the environment. This is really showing the idea of not caring about the future, but worrying about the here and now. And in this case there really is nothing to gain from doing it.

Africa was just a great example of Bush caring more about the rest of the world than he does about the USA. He is so worried right now about getting a good public opinion from the rest of the world after he screwed up so badly with Iraq that he is ignoring us here at home even more than before and is more than willing to sell our future to other countries in order to make himself look good. I am sure he would much rather figure out way he can pocket that money for himself or his supporters by starting up more needless fighting around the world, but that is not helping his world wide opinion nay and that is a big concern for him right now.

I hope I did not confuse you too much by presenting facts and not just propaganda created by the idiot Bush and his group of greed mongers.

That Damned Economy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The following was borrowed from Writeroflight's post today:

The economy is going gangbusters, federal tax revenues are up, and the projected deficit has been reduced anywhere from $62,000,000,000 to $87,000,000,000 – that’s billions of dollars!

How can this be? Corporate tax revenues are up 40% from last year. Individual tax revenues are also up - primarily from stock market gains and the increased incomes of wealthy - yes, wealthy, not middle class or poor - taxpayers.

Now – and this is the important part - take careful note of this, repeat it over and over, meditate on it as you sleep tonight: This happened because tax rates were reduced, and without a single solitary one of the massive soak-the-rich tax increases advocated by Two-Sides Kerry or any other liberal. When taxes are reduced, the economy grows. When the economy grows, more money is made by businesses and individuals. When more money is made, more tax revenues are generated.

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

Wonderfully entertaining as always.

Firstly, whatever happened to "No blood for oil!" ? Now you're claiming the war is raising gas prices??? Maybe you didn't get the memo, but largely thanks to rapid expansion in India and China the global demand for oil is skyrocketing, thus prices are raised. I will gladly join you though Kooka and friends, in pressuring our federal and state governments to outlaw gasoline taxes as well as outlawing the various different fuel standards throughout the country which also raise prices. I will also join you in petitioning for immediate expansion of drilling operations in Alaska.

So the economy is going downhill fast??? Kooka, instead of incessant whining how's about pulling out some hard numbers to demonstrate this. As far as I know our GDP has been constantly climbing. There was actually deflation during the last quarter. Home ownership is at an all-time high. SHOW ME THE NUMBERS KOOKA BABY!

Regarding Africa- Do any of the lefty moonbats think for one second that George Bush wanted to give a cent to the festering money pit that is Africa??? The U.S. has been badgered into such sentimental gestures by socialist governments and media sources the world around. As it is we are still called the "meanest" country in the world by foreign newspapers everywhere and of course the New York Times. Trying to pin that one on Bush is another pathetic attempt in what is shaping up to be a four year hissy fit thrown by the left.

I have no problem with helping out other countries, but it should not come are the sacrifice of our own country. Right now it really does seem like Bush is going to ignore the needs here at home because he has to go and impress the rest of the world by helping them out.
If we can not afford to get good health care and such here, then how can we afford to be doing all that bush is doing over seas?
The needs of the citizens of the USA need to come first in priority for the USA as far as I am concerned.

But we also need to get things traight here or we'll be able to help nobody.

And how much could that money help gets things going good here at home?
If Bush has some great well of money that he can use to go and give aid everywhere in the world he feels like, why can he not use some of that back here to try and fix the economy?
He really is much more concerned with the rest of the world right now and is ignoring the needs here at home.

I was wondering where he was going to get all these billions hes sending to Africa.

White House officials say the president is proposing to increase aid to Africa from $4.3 billion in 2004 to $8.6 billion in 2010.

President Bush also said the U.S. aid package would include continued assistance to fight AIDS, a $1.2 billion initiative to combat Malaria, and $400 million to help educate girls in Africa.

thats all well and good but, where is the money?
