No, We Don't...

...and if I have to spell it out for you, well, it just wouldn't be any fun.

There was nothing ludicrous about the Founding Fathers dumping the British East India Tea Company's tea into Boston Harbor.

There would be nothing ludicrous about holding oil company executives, and their minions, accountable for the miseries they have inflicted on the people of the world.

I've had about enough of this, "ain't corporations great," crapola.  They're a viral infection, a pox on the skin of humanity.  Entities created by humankind are there to serve humankind and their betterment.  Period.  That's THEIR job.  I don't get paid anything extra for just doing my job, for crying out loud, and neither should corporations.  And if *I* become a net liability to my employer -- regardless of my positive contributions -- my employer has a right, if not an obligation to the rest of the employees, to take corrective action.

The corrective action is, bottom line, implied in the Second Amendment to the US Constitution.  If the government refuses to serve the will of the people, then the people have both a right and an obligation to take corrective action.

I'm not for punishing McDonald's consumers, and McDonald's isn't even on my short list of corporations who need a good swift kick.  But if they were their corporate headquarters would be a legitimate target for all kinds of bedlam, both non-violent and violent.

If the, "free market," is do damn great at meeting our collective social needs, then why do corporations fight, systematically, most of not all attempts to remove corporate welfare from the law and from policy?  Is it just peachy-keen that we eliminate the subsidies of poor, starving children, resulting in their poor health and death, but we can keep the corporate subsidies flowing like water so that more death and poor health can result?

This is so wrong-headed I continue to be shocked that anyone caring to label themselves as, "Christian," would require this level of explanation.

volaar, you say:

international corporate interests who have no loyalty to any nation-state, nor any moral agency save to their own profit margins.  They will gut the entire globe if we do not strike back at them with force and in numbers.

What do we do visit McDonalds and throw ketchup packets at everyone?  This is ludicrous.
