thanks for the positive comment on the writing... seems to me that taking people to a place through the written word is the best a writer can hope for so I'm glad that's been the case.

Robdon, this takes the reader into a place they could otherwise not visit. I imagine that some readers might not want to go there. It is fascinating

RobDon,
Your posts remind me of another Aussie friend of mine...He was raised a devout Catholic, and when he was fifteen years old, he confessed to a friend that he had a crush on his teacher (a nun).
Well, the nun overheard the conversation and for some reason felt obligated to report this to the mother superior, who then told his father. Needless to say, the nun in question was forced to resign from the school and my friend was dragged every day three times a day to confession by his father.
My friend, like you, once thought he should become a preist. I'm happy to report that after that incident, he quickly changed his mind...He's now a physiochemisist. Good on him!!
I have other friends who are Catholic...A friend of mine from Scotland once asked if I am...(I'm not, and forgive me, but grateful). I have several major problems with the religion, as I'm sure you do.
Several years ago, I seriously considered the idea of becoming a nun myself...but I decided I just have too many moral problems with that religion.
Someday, I hope you are truly able to make peace with this part of your past. You do indeed have a soul, and you should keep writing...it's the only way to truly set it free.
Peace be unto you, my friend...

I don't get it. Do you want to become a monk or is your heart telling you something else may be in your future? I am confused~~

Is this a fictional vignette or are you there in reality? If so, given the way you feel, should not the seeds of freedom sprout and get you the heck out of there? Anyway, it's a fine post. Hemlocker

robdo, well I was merely suggesting that we all feel that way about our liv
es and that lifeis really made up of these kinds of realizations and choices about them. Then when we're 86 we look back and are happy about the number of times we ran, or the number of times we stayed.

thanks for the comment... yes as I write I am aware of the self-imposed quality of my experience... endless choices to stay in situations rather than leave... i'm also aware of the influence of values and belief systems in feed that sense of self-imposition.

robdo, In my opinion your life is your self-imposed role...the music and
your release of anger is a necessary part of life which you may need to do more of. Very powerful writing.
