I have written a great deal about fear and being fearless. I have found throughout my life that people treat me as I expect them to; if I expect them to be threatening, they are....if I expect them to be less than desirable, they might be, etc. I have never been physically threatened or harmed and have wandered in what most would consider very dangerous areas.....but I do not look people in the eye as if they would harm me - but as if they are people I want to look at. Actually, I came over here to leave a comment in response to your comment in my post so, anyway.....
Bossier City!!!!!! Would you believe that I saw Johnny Rivers (you probably don't even know who that is) in Saks BoomBoom Room (I believe that was the name of the place) there? Also, I used to march in the La State Fair Parade every year...I have a lot of memories from Shreveport and from Bossier City.
Now...Lake 'O the Pines!!! My mom worked at Lone Star Steel and we would drive up everyday after school and pick meet her with our boat and ski - I learned to ski on that lake - many, many hours on that beautiful water...with my dear daddy who is no longer alive. Hadn't thought about those hours in many years...thanks for the memories.

Was that you Jesus?
Every time I pass a panhandler or one of those guys begging on the side of the road with a "Lost my job - Have kids to Feed - Please Help" signs I am reminded of this scripture:
Matthew 25:36-40 (New International Version)
36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
37"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
40"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
Then I swallow hard and think to myself "Jesus was that you?" as I pass by.
