Fw, we been there and did that in the 1950's
(remember the McCarthy hearings?) Actually I don't remember them, I just read about them. And then there was civil rights and women's rights and it was a decade later and we were a torn society. Then Vietnam, I was in the streets and they had turned one part of our society against the other, like today, with lies and hatred and students were shot dead on campus (remember Kent State). But now, they don't need to resort to that because the hate mongers control all branches of government. Their power is absolute. They can lie with impunity and joke about it.

Cyn - how long before we start turning on each other ...
defining who is with us in the march toward hatred, revenge and madness, and who is against us? How long before we are forced to choose sides and support a military solution that perpetuates the violence or be branded as unpatriotic and an enemy of the state?

But Teleynor, even if they
catch those particular bombers, we are doing our best to help them recruit hundreds if not thousands more in Iraq and Afghanistan. Catching these guys will have zero effect on your safety in NYC or mine in Boston.

I have a very hard time grasping it all myself. I suppose it's that this is all hitting so very close to home. I -still- don't have the guts to go back down into lower Manhattan, even nearly four years later. I hope they catch the monsters who did this.
