Those gaseous giants and clouds in space are the gaseous equivalent to "dark matter" in physics. Only, it is hard to keep such high energy gaseous objects dark. Someone is always lighting a match, or the cosmic equivalent.

Yes, and NASA has secret plans to avoid such as space exploration reaches the ability to explore those distant vicinities. A combination of retro-fire and a gaseous entity in space (and they are alive, more on that later) could be cosmically disasterous.
