I'm surprized to find that anyone still owns a record player anymore.

David gets a point for Jud Struck
That is the artist I had in mind.

jollyjeff,
Now, I just keep singing the song, Daisy A Day. I use to listen to it a lot when I was a teen.  Can't seem to get it out of my head, thus I'll have to get my little 45 record out and play it.  I literally have piles of 45's and a lot of 33 1/3 records.

Now, the tune and words tell me that, Mr Bojangle is not the right song.  The words, I WILL GIVE YOU A DAISY A DAY, hits the mark.  As a kid I would buy you candy, honey, has something gone wrong. etc.

I read the words you wrotesinging them and I came up with Mr. BoJangle. The Nitty Gritty dirt band.

It was written and performed by a Jud Strunk

But I had never heard of him until today!

Roy Clark wasn't the artist
I had in mind. I didn't know he had done it but I'll still give MerryAnne a point, I said I would give a point for all correct artists. Still looking for the other artist though.
