regarding herbal medicine
much is what has been handed down for millenia that has certainly been proven to be true.
it would seem ludicrous to believe that the bark from a tree would relieve pain, but, I think it was birchbark, and the result was aspirin.
or that bread mold would dispel disease, but it did, and from this came penicillin.
and of course there are far out things -- of all sorts -- people want to look to the ludicrous for their salvation and healing.
but people will believe anything.

i think it has a lot to do with guilt and projection. when we see ourselves as guilty, we attempt to save ourselves and accept what another tells us is the way. fear makes one do insane things. then we who feel guilty will see others through this fear and wonder why they don't get it. the way to peace and understanding is seeing why we incessantly try to outdo each other.

MandaLee -- Hi - I was wondering if you recognize when you are being had?
Look at your choice of the word "predictions" which is actually the foretelling of a future event. It is not taking an ancient document and looking at historical events that have already transpired while trying to make them fit. Especially when there are so many inherent problems with the practice. The translation woes, agendized editing and falsified portions of the bible, render the exercise little more than a means of creating yet another delusion for the wishful thinking believer. The desire to so much want it all to be true so that it will somehow lend credence to the validity of the bible also seriously impairs any "scientific" results.

Hi, I was wondering if you knew it has been scientifically proven that
events predicted in the Bible actually took place.

Make2short -- I have to agree
From the psuedo sciences to pyramid power, people are capable of convincing themselves of just about anything.

You would be amazed
at the ludicrous things that educated people believe. There are some that believe crystals have powers, others that would rather take herbs that have no scientific testing for effectiveness rather than prescription drugs. Education does not insure that people will act and think rationally.
