thanks for the comment ... I guess there are endless stories of people worn down to the point of giving up ... I'm glad I got through that time and have lived to tell the tale. I was in a bookshop earlier today, looking at maps and books about New York because I want to see the Big Apple someday and I noticed Barnes and Noble marked on the map and I immediately thought of you... so that place is on my list of places to go along with the Strand Bookshop which sounds like the kind of enormous shop where a bilbliophile could happily live the rest of his life (do you think the owners of the store would allow that to happen???) Ha! if only

It's very strange how many people, like the man driving this car, become demons of death behind the wheel...embued with a power they do not possess in their own human skin.  I retired from a career in bodily injury claims and dealt with their aftermath many times.  I also dealt with the aftermath of many who chose to leave this life via auto, or rode out due to another who did...even wrote a post about one. I wondered as I read, how many of them drove around with feelings like you so eloquently expressed, no longer caring.....just made me think of it.
