Good comments!
Glenn, you’re absolutely right: “There is a difference in interpreting law and ignoring law!” The difference is enormous, and the Supreme Court completely ignored the law in the Kelo case. Coming up with a ruling that is absolutely the opposite of the clear language of the 5th Amendmend cannot be called an interpretation in any way, shape or form.

Scoop, you made a good call as well: “We want judges to do their jobs by the law not what Demos or Repubs want.” I hope you’re joining me in letting the Demo senators who demand nominees who conform to their ideologies know how wrong they are to do that. However, to be clear on DeLay’s remarks, he was calling the federal court to account for its open defiance of an absolutely legal congressional instruction to hear the Schiavo case. <[> Welcome, Madame P. O.! You’re right, some Justices have gone off in all sorts of unforeseen directions. But the issue is worth a lot of fretting because of what happens when they start concocting their own laws in violation of the existing law. Kelo was only the latest, and one of the most egregious, instances of this.

I don't see the point...
in fretting so much over this issue. Justices are not political animals, and thus can prove "wildly unpredictable". Justice Stevens was appointed by Nixon (as was former Justice Blackmun). While, President Reagan installed O'Connor.

So, you never can tell. People (even Supreme Court Justices) change.

Yeah WriterofLight we all know how Republicans feel about judges

remember the Schiavo case when the Repubs did not get what they wanted, this is what Tom DeLay said, "The time will come for the men responsible for this to answer for their behavior." What a little child, we want judges to do their jobs by the law not what Demos or Repubs want,

Writeroflight,
There is a difference in interpreting law and ignoring law! You are an intellectual slave to labels (liberal, conservative). Why not really reveal your true bigoted self! Would probably make you feel better!

Writer, I agree, or give them the Att'y General.
