Numinous -- I hear you but that is merely a natural emotional reaction to a

story such as this. I was only 15 at the time this happened and only there because I could understand a bit of French (Haitians speak French), my sympathies at the time rested entirely with the farmer, with little patience for or understanding of what the Haitians were going through. Today, 35 years later, my sympathies for the farmer have amplified tenfold from my own business experiences but at the same time, maturity has forced a healthy amount of tolerance and understanding upon me of other peoples and cultures.

So I guess what I am saying is: if I was to experience something such as this again and knowing what I know now, I would take the shotgun myself and blast mother crow, nestlings and all to kingdom come. Why, you may ask? ...because 60 human beings were in real danger from the crow's presence.

Gnome
I'm really gald your story didn't include the shotgunning of the crow. Animals are often the brunt of human stupidity. :P
