Ah yes. Didn't you ever hear "Don't feed the animals"? That's because
you end up with many more critters than you can stand, hanging around your place. I once ended up with 9 squirrels. And we have a herd of 7 deer that hang out in our backyard, too. They've taken up eating our bushes in front, which I don't begrudge them, but I also can't stop them from eating all our tiger lillies. I've had to put web-like fencing all around the new trees I've gotten started, too. Actually, one is a mulberry bush, the other is a bartlet pear tree....

I Think Geese Are Beautiful--Especially, Canada Geese...
...but I've also noticed that what they produce looks more like squiggles of toothpaste than little pellets--and what comes out of them certainly isn't the color of toothpaste, and you wouldn't ever catch me trying to brush my teeth with it!!!
Just think of all of the fertilizer they're leaving behind! All of those flowers you've been wanting to plant would certainly thrive.
Too bad they can't be trained to only use a certain area--much like cats are trained to use litterboxes!
10-4!

Reminds me of my gooey shoes from walking around our town's lake
Many visitors think the masses of ducks and geese are so special and bring bread and such to feed them - not me, I know what they do with it.
I've always wanted to live on a farm; looking forward to reading about your adventures. Welcome to Blogit.

Joe Love - my garsh - I feel like I'm adressing my hubby....
Your story was a wonderful read. I see you are a "newbie." Welcome.
As for Poop By the Pond - dear heart, can I relate. To be quick with this, I just built a house, a beautiful house, on the edge of my town. I am 2 miles south of our city's Water Reclomation Plant AND the City Dump. Been here since November and had no problems until today. There was a mighty wind blowin' and let me tell you - the smell of poop was in the air. P-U
