- Go to Should Bush have cited September 11th or not?
Welcome, JJ Wilde and half-life!
And, thanks for 1,000 reads!
JJ, honored to be flipping and flapping on the right side. I was silent for way too long.
Offbeatpub, you raise a good point. The liberals aren’t stupid by nature. Some of them – even a lot of them – have perfectly good heads on their shoulders. It’s that goofy ideology of theirs. Lots of good minds have been lost to it.
Twodog, I’ll visit your posting tomorrow.
Scoop, thanks as always for your thoughts. Question: Assuming for the sake of argument that he was right and that September 11th and the Iraq war are related, would his citing of it still have been for political gain? Or would it have been a statement of fact? How would you draw the line?
Glenn, thanks to you also. Here, let me turn your crank a couple of times. ’m glad Bush is taking the same resolute stand towards this nation’s enemies that FDR did. And I’m glad Bush has taken the initiative in keeping FDR’s legacy of Social Security out of bankruptcy.
Half-life, I’m not sure why you aren’t getting it from him if indeed you are reading and listening honestly. But I am honored that you look to me for enlightenment. Assuming you mean the war in Iraq: To enforce UN sanctions that Saddam disarm; to shut down Iraq’s support of terrorism abroad; to liberate the people of Iraq, with the goal of establishing the first democracy in an Arab nation in the region; and to remove a regime that has repeatedly violated the borders of its neighbors.

WL,
I have seen too many conservative/liberal flipflaps to join in here, but I am certainly happy to see people to the right of Socialism, and the ideology it entails, finally standing to be heard.

The bleeding lib's will never understand the answer because they don't understand the questions! They whine and spin and make themselves stupid. You see, that is one thing the Democratic party is good for these days, implosion! They question a sitting wartime President like they have a solution or something other than the big fat mouths they keep sticking their feet into! I will say, it is entertaining to watch a liberal, if for nothing other than amusement. Another thing they are wrong about?Americans are not stupid, we recognize just what they are trying to accompolish. Which by the way, for the last 10 years plus, has not been one damm thing!

Actually, the war bagan on 23 Feb 98, when the World Islamic Front declared war on the Untied States and Israel. I know this to be true because I have a copy of the declaration and I plan to post it. I doubt Scoop ro Gleenb will take the time to read it, I doubt most folks will take the time to understand what the President said when he called the war on terror a new kind of war, without borders, fought by fanatics more bent on killing civilians than fighting a military, it is safer, now isn't it? I don't know, I've spent about fifty hours gathering information, and posting it, without a personal opinion, just the facts, and I'm beginning to belive I whistling in the wind.

He used 9/11 the other night to sell the war in Iraq plain and simple
but no matter what anyone tells you or facts you see George Bush is never wrong. By using 9/11 the way he and Rove use it, it is for political gain only.

I have read his speeches, I have listened to him speak and all I have to ask you is this. Tell me again what were the reasons, tell me again what it's for?
