Sounds like that may cause a problem since an extra long word/phrase will impact the width of your blog column since Blogit doesn't automatically hyphenate an extra long word/phrase.

You will need to do that manually and then make sure you put a space after the hyphen so that the next part of the phrase goes on to the next line.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

Krisles - Yes, running the words together without spaces like...

that will do it. I've run into this with long hyphenated words that knocked my formatting for a loop!

I can see why you have your job!! Thanks for the follow-up...do you think I'm right that the mess-up was caused by my "rap" type writing that I did: notputtinganyspacesinanditranoffhteline and then I tried to go back and mess with it? Promise, that will be the last question on this -just so I know to be careful with that in the future because it is something I do...usually in my MA blog. Thanks,Brian.....Krisles

Your blog seems to have its formatting back to normal when I went to it just now. It is possible that you were still viewing a version of that page that is in your browser's cache rather than the updated version with the formatting fixed. You may want to try refreshing that page by clicking on your browser's refresh icon on top.

Thank you.

Brian, thanks for the help...

It worked as long as I was in edit...it was perfect...but the minute I left the edit and then went back to read, it was like I had never done anything.  So I redid it to make sure I hadn't just forgotten to save and post...same thing.  Finally, I just deleted.  It's still wide, but not off the screen.  I think it must have been because I did htis line of unbroken words, a kind of "rap"; and then when I saw than one line was off the screen I kept messin with it, trying to get a break in it to wrap it to the next line - I must have really messed something up then. Thanks very much for the help!

Formatting problem

It looks like your blog's formatting is messed up because of this post:

http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/Krisles7634/270370

I figured this out by clicking on the permalink (permanent link) of each of your posts on your Opinion blog and found that the above post was the first instance of the very wide formatting which is causing the whole blog page (and all your previous posts) to now become just as wide.

When you copy and paste any writing from another website or another application, sometimes you will find that you've also included the formatting of the original. The only way to fix this is by making sure that you follow these steps when copying text:

1. Highlight the text. Choose Copy from the Edit menu.

2. Open Notepad. Notepad is in the Start menu, under Programs > Accessories.

3. Choose Paste from the Edit menu. The text will be pasted without formatting.

4. Highlight the text in Notepad. Choose Copy from the Edit menu.

5. Now, you can paste the text without formatting into the "Add post" page.

In order to fix the formatting on your blog and the particular post that has created the problem, please go back and re-post this particular post. To edit a post, go to your Write page and click on Edit next to the name of the blog in question. Then click on edit under the specific post you want to change.

You may want to try copying all of the text in that post and then follow the above steps to remove its formatting, and then paste it back into it and see if that works. If that doesn't work, you may need to completely delete that post and that should fix the problem.

Thank you.
