- Go to WHEN I DIE WOULD IT BE ALRIGHT IF I LEFT YOU A MESSAGE?????????????????????
If the important people who died when I was young had done this,
it would be easier to remember they are still with me-- a thing I do believe spiritually, but tend to forget in the niose and busy-ness of life.
And I would have been so very grateful!
No one has to pay to write a letter, or make a tape recording--- it just takes a little initiative to just do it.

I don't need to do this.
I'm planning on coming back to mess with all the friends and family I leave behind.

When video was introduced many
years ago, some people started to use it for the reading of their wills after they had passed. There's uncle Henry on the tv screen telling you what he left you. Then I have also read a couple of stories of people dying from a terminal illness, who would make a video about themselves for their children. That way they would know a little something about their mom or dad. Myself have a tape of a sermon that my fater gave as a lay preacher, that I play on occasion to remember his voice. He passed away the day after Easter five years ago. Yes there are a few people that I would like to have something to better help me remember them by. What I would also like to do is send a video or cd to telling them what asses they have been.

I think it's a great idea Symph
It would be lovely to hear a voice you're missing so much, heartbreaking to be true, but lovely nonetheless.

Symph...
Thanks for the poem you left as a comment. I figure I've said everything I've wanted to while I'm alive. Once I'm dead that's going to be enough!

Symp--Some wills are recorded I gather from
various movies I've seen, and of course, a growing number of people have web cams or the like to record loved ones. So, I can't see much of a market for this. But the concept is ok in my opinion.

I like the idea...
..I actually wrote a letter to my children before I went in for surgery..just in case. It may sound morbid but several people in my life have died completely unexpectedly and (as you know) the suddenness is very hard to get over. I like the idea.

symphony,
People don't expect to leave unexpectedly. The only thing they prepare is the will. Other recordings are usually the videos.

Symphony,
I think it's a lovely idea...Especially for those who may be terminally ill. I only wish this site had been around before my grandpa passed away...I'd give my last breath for the chance to hear his voice again...

I don't know, it just seems a little like predeteming death even thought it
could happen down the line, but then again so is a viedo will so I guess it just depends on how it's looked at. take care. ~Silly

it would be hard to hear it.....I feel the same because my last words to my brother isn't what I wanted to be said.....I wish I could turn back time and know that if he really had to go..I could at least had said all the things I have put down in poetry (in my other blog where I wrote the whole book of my brother) but I still would have loved to hear his voice as a comfort...(my cousin has a video tape of my brother and I cant bring myself to watch it yet) one day I will though.....

It's still hard for me to hear my brother's voice, but I keep thinking how I never got to say goodbye and either did he, but it would be nice to hear a message from him and a goodbye, so to me the idea isn't so bad.

David - easy for you to say it's easy to get a message from a spirit!
If I did have a coherent conversation with one, I may start to think I'd cracked. Now, that said, I would agree that I have had close encounters of the spirit kind;) Just not conversations...
Maybe it has to be really quiet to hear 'em??

but I would like to hear their voice and keep it forever....I still talk away to photographs of those that passed...I wish I could hear them talk back...but a message would have been fine (a voice to treasure forever)

Why don't people just "talk" to the spirit of a loved one.
Our spirits are alive and well and infinite. Anything we say is going out there in consciousness. Therefore no tape or videos are required. If one has a message for another who has passed, getting that message out is as easy as can be.

Ah, I love a quiet house!
That is the problem with husbands...even after the kids are asleep, they still have to have the TV on etc. Oh well, at least someone is there to remove the big bugs when they show up! We live too close to the woods....
I'd say people could leave me a message as long as I was aware that it was not just some cruel joke! I might be very suspicious if I had never heard of the site. Paranoid cynic that I am huh?
Time to hit the treadmill. Fun fun.
