Whacky, I went through a period of time after my sister died during which I would  say that I wanted to go home. So, I believe that in times of serious heartache, it is the time period when we had no grievous pain in our hearts; otherwise, it is where ones loved ones are.

Whacky
I think home is where you can't be hurt.  Where you can be you without pretending.

Whacky,
My home is my safehaven. I consider Blogit a familiar place where I can kinda "go" anywhere I want right at my desk. People have often told me that my house "feels" safe and comforting. I like hearing that. Of course, right now my safehaven home is being terrorized by a 3 month old puppy!

Whacky, Yes i agree, Blogit! is home.
However, at different times of our lives home means different things.  Your mom wanted for her life to return to the way it was when she was younger.  Young kids want life to be different so they have more freedom, and like Ben said, when people are unhappythey want to go back to whenever they felt comfortable.  Home becomes an escape, rather than that childhood safety most of us had.  My home is here with my kids and puppies in the yard.  Soon the kids'll be grown and I'll no doubt go for a different kind of home.  But I feel comfortable here on Blogit!  And happy here in my present home.  Great Blog, and thanks for the FD greetings!

I feel at home reading you luv.

You are far away but you have that 'homemaking feeling' quality about you. Like when you write; "Consider yourself tucked in." What a lovely person you are.

Your mom and dad were so fortunate to have had you. Blah.

Whacky46,
When people feel uncomfortable or ill, they express the wish to "go home" to get away.

Ben.
