That is soooo beautiful. When I was a girl, we would come home after school and watch the 4 o'clock movie (if only he had bonded with me watching sports instead of old movies, my corporate career would have gone so much more smoothly) and I would watch Sonja Henie and dream....and now I collect glass. So, thank you for that beautiful phrase (as I also love to collect those), "dance across the glass"...

I would tell you this:
The stars that are abeam to me
are near as opposed to you
When I dance across the glass
the warmth of the lake is new
Teething at its finest
is nothing when you are young
But Music is the Power
the Revolver Thriving at the Sun

Gee, am I surprised about you and music....not! You're right about the sex with clothes on..absolutely. And, if I'm not a snob at this point, I'm never gonna be!

I'm just as passionate about the Music.
I'm also a music snob, but that comes with experience. I used to love going to the clubs, dancing, getting nasty with the woman, the heat, the sweat, the tension It was all there.
I don't care what they say, it IS having sex with your clothes on.

Lucky gal! I saw so many groups in concert but never them. I can't believe that I forgot how many incredible songs all these groups did that I hadn't thought about...and, yes, Puckett and the Union Gap are one of those groups, too. There are just so many of them!! I guess if you love music as much as we do it's just a feast...we can only stuff ourselves so full at any given time and have to go back to the cafeteria line periodically to see the menu!! You owe yourself an iPod (or something like it) asap...I keep mine on shuffle because I'm such a music hog I love all kinds and I love not knowing what is coming up next....country, classical, oldie, rap, blues, etc.....it is my drug of choice and I just love, love, love it!! Thanks for the compliment and for reading!!

Cat was so very, very special to this same guy and me...I have all his stuff on vinyl, tape and cd!! Have already loaded most of it on my iPod. He was one guy that no matter what he did politically, his music transcended it! Wow, I'm gonna have to go listen to him now....thanks for visiting.

This is one special post.
I really did enjoy reading it. So many of the songs you mention, I do remember and love. I'm with you. Music is great. I wish I had an iPod. I was fortunate enough to see The Grass Roots in concert. I love the oldies and my husband and I have matching shirts, telling the world that we love the "Oldies." Ha-Ha
Gary Pucket & the Union Gap is also special to me. Thanks for posting.

I bought a $15 itunes card when I bought the iPod but (a) haven't been able to face the prospect of having to figure out how to do it, and (b) have been able to avoid it because I have a kazillion cd's to download first! And yes, the Guess Who is definitely a favorite and "American Woman" and "No Sugar Tonight" will definitely get downloade...actually, I'm pretty sure we have a cd or two by them. You are too young is why you don't know that many by the Grass Roots but if you heard a couple of them I listed you would recognize them because they have remained classics on the oldies that everyone has heard throughout the years by accident if not on purpose. I look forward to breaking the ice on downloading from the net...I've got 1167 on my hard drive and iPod right now just from cd's and at least that many stacked up here on my desk right now ready to go now. Funny thing is, Talion, remember how we talked the other day about being stubborn about giving into some of these things? I was so disdainful of the kids walking around with music plugged into their ears..."they are tuning out the world", "creating a barrier", "missing out on life", etc., etc....I'm becoming an iPod addict....music is my drug of choice!

I'd be okay if I had to live the rest of my life without televsion, but if I had to go without music, I don't know what I'd do. Have you tried iTunes? You buy a song for .99 and download it directly to your hard drive. It's yours forever, completely legal, and saves a bundle if you don't want the whole album. However, it you do, it's cheaper than the buck a song price. I swear by it. I like
Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress, but I don't remember anything else by them. What about The Guess Who? You know,
American Woman,
Undun, No Sugar Tonight/Mother Nature, etc. I've been listening to them a lot lately.
