SYMPHONY
A good place to start is with a business plan. Write down your objectives, your goals, and list no less than 3 ways to make them happen. By making 3 different ways to make it happen, you can always try number 2 if 1 doesn't work. It's called plan A, plan B, plan C,etc. List your priority's. In the meantime, have a great weekend with your family!!

symphony,
Hi. I wasn't aware that you posted. Return and tell us more stories!

Surf the UK sites and note their prices. Then you can decide. Comparable or slightly cheaper prices can attract customers.

Use your pc to design your own brochures / business cards. Hand these out to all who you meet. Always keep capital down; make cheap but presentable ones.

People who know you, your neighborhood, karaoke customers etc are the most likely customers for your products.

Do this business as a sideline until the income is sufficient to support you.

Good luck,
Ben.

Hope your weekend is as
good as mine will be in the mountains. Start at the library, there should be books on how to go about starting your own business, there should also be books listing markets for your types of things. I know there are all kinds of books on the different kinds of market, writers, artists, photographers, and so on. They are simply lists of companies that accept outside submissions and tell you some basic information of what and how to go about submitting it. The web is a good idea, but a highly competative place, since you are competing pretty much world wide. These days though every business has a website. Reminds me, I should really get mine finished one of these days. For design type jobs, brochures, flyers and so you might start by approaching different organizations that can not afford to have design work done by expensive design companies. By all means put together some type of porfolio of your work so you'll have something to show potencial clients. Since your in the Kareoke business, you might want to see if you can connect with some local bands that are just starting up and could use some advertising materials. If I can help further, don't hesitate to drop me an email with your questions, but maybe this can get you thinking.

I have something I want to say!
Quit doing that! Saying it's your last post. It's just cruel and unusual punishment

What you may
want to do is look into doing graphics things on a contractural basis. Put together a catalog of things you can do, and take it around to businesses.
