saul_relative, Mysticgmkeepr, and jacenta,

Thanks for your comments.  Saul, the judge you described and the judge I had could very well be the same judge.  My ex is most definitely a sociopath, a pathalogical liar, abusive, cunning, devious.  I could go on and on.  These are not the bad feelings of the cast aside wife.  I have since forgiven him for all he did but that doesn't change his stripes.  He will always be the same.  There is no incentive for him to change.  He needs help but will never get it.  The judge didn't care, she just liked him better I guess.

I would go so far as to say that your percentages are a little high, RAME.
However, not by too many points.  There are some honest, decent lawyers out there (I hope).  And I've seen first hand also what a lazy judge can do in a custody/divorce case.  I watched a judge give visitation rights to a mentally disturbed husband with sociopathic tendencies and an attempted murder charge (the murderee would have been his wife) simply because the wife did not have a lawyer (the old buddy system).  The judge (a woman, can you believe it?) said she'd look into his psychological records (she lied; she did not) and reexamine the case if need be (she did not), but until then the children should be able to see their father (and have been for over five years now.  So how long does it take to request psychological records?).

RAME

i suspect you are close to the truth there. Pretty sad state of affairs. That jury liked Michael Jackson, felt sorry for him, saw him as a victim, just as he designed. And they did not like the accusing family.
