I say go for it Symph....
...all they can say is 'no' right? At least try to get through...and perhaps your record is erased by now. Can you check with the police dept first? Good luck!

At least you tried. I'm not sure if I'd mention the criminal record though. They aren't that strict with daycare workers here in the US but I wish they were.

Symph, I think it's a good idea to provide the information about the charge, whether it's been erased from your record since it was so long ago and the details behind how you got it.
I know that parents who have children being cared for are going to want to know that information.

Try to apply. Keep quiet about the record if the formal form doesn't ask. Child minding is a very good option as compared to the selling work. Good luck.
