Well Symph,
There is that book "Telling Lies for Fun and Profit" about writing. I have been known to expand on the truth when I'm writing a funny post. Not totally lying, just exagerating a smidge. But, except for my fiction blog, all this stuff really happens - it's just how I tell it that might change.

I have witnessed this too but then I am like you and notice details. It is like a form of torture to notice so many details --sometimes I wished I didn't. However, as I was saying to a friend today I am full of contradictions and I think most humans are. Take care

Symphony: it's the same thing - whether it wa a policeman or a priest does not really matter; the rape, if there was one, involved someone in power over the victim. I do agree with you, though - I wish they could keep their stories consistent!

hey, who?
if you are going to make statements as such, take it a step further. The good thing about fiction and poetry is that it is fiction and poetry. It sounds like some journaling should be placed into that category. Love, Vib

You'd make a good detective Symph!
I, on the other hand, am sadly unaware! I haven't come across this..but that sure doesn't mean it doesn't happen! Hmm..maybe it's me..I have bad memory..haha!

I've seen it too, Love...Just ignore it as best you can. That's really the only way to deal with such people. I say, if you're going to write, either for pleasure or professionally, write truthfully...Most decent people don't want to read lies.

That's pretty sad
What's the point in writing when lies can ultimately dig a grave that's awaiting the body of the liar? hmmm. Good ranting.

symph... I've seen a few like that. I just choose to ignore it.
I figure if I tell it right the first time around there's nothing to remember.

I can understand people change over time but not change so much on the same day. Don't let it bother you. Have a nice day.

L.E.Gant thank you very much for your comment
but I don't think I make myself clear, I am very aware of the changes in life brings different views but I was more talking about bloggers who write about things that have happened in their life lets say they said they were raped by a police officer then months later they say it was a priest...thats what I meant about lying...

It's a human trait. We change our view of what's true as we find change entering into our lives. Kuhn called it paradigm shifting. Think of a paradigm as being a total world view. When the paradigm changes, then it is difficult, even for those who are aware of the change, to see the world as they saw it before. My wife and I saw ithappen regularly when we were teaching our business courses - our students would have great difficulty with their business, but, after some parts of our material, those problems just vanished - the situation was the same, but they saw things with "different eyes", and the problems were not problems any more. It's not a matter of remembering - only people outside the paradigm shift (and a few who can do the shift between paradigms consciously) can see that there might be "lies", but not the people who made the shift.
Don't think of it as lies - just as alternate realities showing through.
