great post, gomer
if we loved God, then we would love ourselves and each other. we have reduced him to an irritable, puerile parent who is bent on revenge.

Vibrance -- I checked it out
It's always neat to see your stuff in print somewhere else. Remind me to pay more attention to sentence structure and simple grammar though. I didn't notice what a hack job I had done until I saw it in a setting other than Blogit.

jmhtribulas -- I was told the same thing when I was a child

I think the angels bowling was something we made up at recess.

I was told thunder happened because God was mad

and he was usually mad at me.

many are thinking similarly
I touched on the god people create in their minds when I posted about our dominant male tribal society.
We worship the dominant male, just as do Chimpanzees and Baboons and certain other primates (although, it seems gorillas have a more democratic government -- if the dominant male is unsatisfactory, then several other males gang up on him and drive him out of the tribe).
That's our holding kings special (UK and their royalty) and pretty much electing men to the presidency and males rising to the top of corporations -- corporations in particular -- notice how the subdominants lick the boots and body parts and turn their rumps toward the dominant so he can display his dominance --
churches are no different -- the minister fills the role of dominant male and the females fawn all over him.
hierarchies are that way
just consider the Pope the ultimate dominant human male who stands in the place of the supreme dominant male.
we recognize that we have evolved and that this is our evolutionary heritage and we've gone a long way toward real salvation, not the fake salvation that too many espouse.

Vibrance - go for it - but you would have to be the judge of whether or not
a rambling rant such as this is suitable for your intended audience.

Entertaining ending
great essay. I would love to post it on my RushPRnews Daily Gazette (http://rushprnews.iuplog.com) with your permission. The ending surprised me a bit and that is a good thing. Yep, we need to start with the small things. Love, Vib
