How exciting Symphony!

GOOD LUCK!!

I've been a bit slack lately in the money making area - I need some ideas too, lol. I would just say for now, until other avenues of income open up (and in my experience, once you set your mind to it, they do eventually) be thrifty and wise with what you do have. A home is a great investment and being out of the city, even if it's not a permanent move- in, is wonderful for children.

CONGRATULATIONS!!

Symphony
I live in two places and it can be a headache but it is also wonderful to have one of them be a dream place - good luck and you have the right attitude to make it work.  I make cards and it is fun and easy and there are ideas everywhere you look; just open your eyes and put your own unique style into it....put them in stores like flower shops, gift shops, even make some to hold gift certificates at restaurants.  There is no end to the possibilities if you just think about ways that people would like to communicate in a unique way...you're there to help them.

Thanks Ben for all your suggestions

I don’t own my house I rent it so it does not have a mortgage but I guess I can rent it out…but I have bought my holiday home and because its not made of brick and does have wheels I just have to pay ground rent (here in UK it is actually called a caravan)

But it stays at the holiday home that’s where the name comes from as it don’t travel anywhere else…if that makes sense…and yes I can rent that out but I am hoping to spend more time there.

Good idea about selling books at gigs…I need to think more on that…

Thank you so much for everything

I have missed reading you…………take care

symphony,
Whichever house is empty, rent it out to get some money to pay the mortgage. However, check your tenants properly as theft/vandalism/damage usually happens.

Its very tough to get money from writing. You can try to sell your works at your karaoke gigs. You need to buy your own stock in advance for that. People tend to become your customers when they know you & you sell directly to them. Just include an announcement during your gig.

Handmade greeting cards maybe cheaper to produce. I'm sure you have ideas or look it up. You only need the design on the cover, leave the inside blank. Of course, the seasonal greetings help too.

I'm sure you'll succeed in something.

Wow! You're really coming out of yourself...not afraid of life anymore..

Though it can be quite daunting - and actually, no one knows exactly how to do it right - living your life with zeal and enthusiasm is the only way to go. Oh yes, you make mistakes but you were probably doing that anyway. Might as well be trying to walk on the water when the storm surge hits, as sitting in the little boat fretting over insignificant details.

Congrats on your new place and your new adventure.

Wow, girl I am so happy for you!!!! Do you have pics to share of your holiday home?

posted by Tanoolicious on June 6, 2005 at 1:32 PM | link to this | reply

Ah that is very exciting...a house of your own

AND it is a holiday home.  Can I ask where it is (roughly, I will have to look at a map no matter what!)? Are you allowed to rent it out?

However, methinks you are spending way too much time with Americans if you are putting yourself into debt! But owning a home is a much better debt than a "gotta have that pair of shoes" debt. I will let you know if I think of any moneymaking ideas for you.  (So. Have you heard of Amway? Joking! Do not let anyone talk you into that one!)

Oh and here is your housewarming present. Lava Lamp I bought a case of these suckers and this is only the second one I have given out so far...
