Well Kris,

I really don't know if it was a good or bad thing that it closed up, it's maybe another live chapter or the typical evoluation of time taking over, aging. lol. Take care. ~Silly

That's kind of cool that it closed up.....can I assume that our heart healed up? I hope so.  And, yes, the butterflies mean a lot to me on many levels. Thanks for reading!

Well with tattoos if is a unqiune extention of ones self

we somehow stand out by what the suface displays and I think you made a great choice, unlike the tiny one I goten of a black broken heart with the words borken underneath, strangley after eight years the heart has closed up, but I think I've somehow cussed my self by getting it, but the thought to remove it has never crossed my mind. ~Silly

Somehow, Timmy
I think you would have gotten the Death before dishonour, but just the words; maybe in Celtic....no you're a Scot...what was their ancient language, Gaelic...pardon my ignorance....anyway, no skull....definitely more elegant....I mean, you do put the seat down, I just know you do!...and a Navy man!

I would have gotten a skull with something like "death before dishonor" written under it..........or maybe Dennis the Menace

Tim
It took me over 4 years to work up to it and I still would have walked out without one if I hadn't seen the photo in the book and discovered the white way.....and the butterfly itself is more like an architectural design...the man who broke my heart a few months back sketched it for his office. I have no regrets about it.

Knowing you......I would imagine that they are cool...and tasteful. Me? I thought about it many times, but never did it.

You make me feel so good - I wish you could surf on my lake and I'd try to get you to come visit and I'd take you to the Austin City Limits Music Festival this September - Coldplay is headlining - 70 something bands, 3 days, something like 6 stages going at once...unbelievable!

Damn, you're good.

Why am I not surprised....
that you have tats too. I love mine. My ex-husband is a tattoo artist (on the side) and does fantabulous work. I have a chinese dragon on my side that is done only in black and grey. Took 4 hours to complete, but the end result makes even the biggest naysayer at least stare in awe. It's beautiful. I have a scorpion on the back of my neck that I would like removed and another little one in my groin area...hee hee.  Maybe we can exchange pics?

I've often thought of a tatoo as well ...
something with a fist, a knife, barb wire, blood and a tear drop with "Mother" in old english type.

I can tell we have lots of talkin' to do...miles and miles before we sleep.  White cotton panties, huh...did you like them?

Krisles, after reading your
about me page and this post I think we are in many ways alike. I don't have any tatoos, but do find the ones like you described interesting on women. Yes I talk about being old, but I don't feel old. In fact I never really think of myself as being old. By the way my ex used to wear white cotton panties.

Ouch! Have you ever seen those Discovery shows on tats?  Incredible. So sorry about your gull!  I read recently that tats are becoming so mainstream that the "real" folks are getting all disgruntled about it.  They don't need to worry about me encroaching on their piercing territory.  Glad you like my tats!

Super tattoo story...

I've never heard of white tattoos till now.  Your description of the white, lacy effect is a very attractive one.  I can picture it.  That's what I should have had done (not the lacy part, though)  My first tattoo was my first girlfriend's name.  Dumb, dumb, dumb.  Got it just after I joined the navy.  We swore we'd never part.  Ha.  I ended up on the east coast, she married a bus driver, and we never saw each other again, but she was with me for years after that.  It was one of those home-made jobs that sailors give each other using a bottle of India Ink and a sewing needle.  Dark blue and kind of lopsided.  Always regretted it.  The laser is a great invention.  Like you, though, I was always happy I didn't get them on my hands or my forearms, just the biceps, which are easier to cover.  The one on the other arm, though, was my favourite - an old four-master with all sails set, cresting a foamy green sea, surrounded by seagulls, with "RCN" above it and "Homeward Bound" below it.  I still have that one.  Rolled up my sleeve for a flu shot back in November, and the nurse said, "Oops, I stabbed one of your seagulls."  No respect....
