I agree. I hate flying, especially now that there is so much
"hurry up and wait" about it. It wears me out, but I find most people don't understand why!

Quirky
I can identify with this situation - but it usually follows a day in London.

Quriky
I get like that too, everytime I travel. When I get home or to my destination, the first thing I want is a shower to refresh!

Hey Quirky, great to see you're back too!
Yes, I always get exhausted from travel. Usually because I'm too wound up and excited to relax and rest. Hope your trip is enjoyable.

Quirky,
I think it's the same questionable theory when one is so tired after sleeping TOO MUCH! One would think, "hey, I got 12 restfull hours of sleep last night," but they are tired. We just can't win!

It's stress I'd much rather work in the hot sun
all day than sit and wait... it is the hardest thing in the world to do.

Welcome back!
It's all the waiting and the sitting around. I dunno why, but it's enough to make anybody sluggish.

They call it jet lag, but car trips are the same...
travelling is tiring. Planes particularly because you are dependent on someone else to get you there, and how can you really trust them?

Quirky,
This is not unusal for me. I got exhausted just traveling to Virginia back in 1992. Going to London was worse for me, but of course that has to do with the time zone change. My joints make me tired more and more often these days, which is why I'm not really able to travel as often.
Hope you're feeling a bit better tomorrow....Get some rest!!...

I get that same way when I travel. Even short flights are exhausting, and I also feel dirty, like I have some sort of funky film all over me!

LOL Quirky!!
This is so true!! Done this many times, even slept on the plane..I still arrive tired! Of course, when you're going to different time zones you can blame it on jet lag. I cry jet lag even if I'm in the same zone! ;)

Quirkyalone - Air travel's for the birds !! ...except for one thing. The last time I boarded a plane was for a return trip to my wilderness village from winter in a west coast city, the plane made two interim stops - one to change planes in the Windy City; another to drop off most of the passengers before reaching my upper midwest wilderness home, with still a 100 mile drive to the village. A friend picked me up at the airport; told him of dropping off most of the passengers elsewhere. His replay: "Good! The fewer people up here, the better!"

Quirky...
Welcome home. It is due to the mental anguish and stress brought on by travel. It is partially percieved, but largely un-percieved. The same stress occurs when transporting livestock, not that I am comparing you to livestock...you are a mammal though. It is a good idea to load up on Vitamin B prior to traveling, it relieves the stress, of which fatigue is a symptom. As long as I have tread out on this limb I may as well tell you, when female mammals are transported they frequently begin an estrus cycle upon arrival at their destination, good luck with that
