I'm glad you've found a consistent solution. Since the "advanced users" checkbox is for entering HTML formatting directly, paragraph breaks are ignored if the box is checked. Unchecked is better!

I had a similar difficulty. Then I found I could use the "select all" under edit in word, and Ctl-C to copy it.

In Blogit, It was easy to paste the whole into the box by selecting "advanced users", and then the Ctl-V. The only problem was that it emoved all the paragraph breaks,so I had to re-format (not a bad thing - I caught a lot of mis-wordings: proof reading). But it would not work when the "advanced users"boxwas not ticked.

Of late, I've found that if I click on the advanced users, then go back to the simple first screen,I can paste at will. Saves a lot of time!

Re: More weird things from bizarro world

Assuming copy and paste continues to work, you can remove the formatting using Notepad, which would make the text wrap properly. Here's how:

1. Highlight the text in Word. Choose Copy from the Edit menu.

2. Open Notepad. Notepad is in the Start menu, under Programs > Accessories.

3. Choose Paste from the Edit menu. The text will be pasted without formatting.

4. Highlight the text in Notepad. Choose Copy from the Edit menu.

5. Now, you can paste the text without formatting into the "Add post" page.

I think your page...
in Word may be formatted too large. Try squinching the margins in. Also, use "Edit - Paste" instead of Control V.

More weird things from bizarro world

First I should say that I tried to copy and paste your questions into this box. Can't do it.

Next I should say that I tried copying and pasting from Word into the subject line, and I could do it. In fact, this time I could copy and paste entire paragraphs into the box.

Except, even though my Word document was single-spaced, it copied as double-spaced, AND the lines won't wrap. My copying and pasting reformatted the entire box so that instead of wrapping, the words go on and on to the right and a scroll bar appears at the bottom of the box, even when I am typing brand-new words directly into the box.

I'm sure I'm putting the cursor in the right place!

I have Windows XP.

I can copy or cut and paste from Word into my web-based e-mail programs (I tried both Lycos and Hotmail) and my regular e-mal program (Eudora.) I can also go from them to Word. I also regularly cut and paste from Word or those programs into Outlook. So I don't think my cut n' paste functions in the programs on my computer are the problem.

Re: Still can’t paste

I tried to reproduce the problem by creating a new document in Word, typing a sentence, and copying and pasting it into the “Add post” page. However, that is working properly on my computer, so if you don’t mind, I have some more questions:

a)      Can you copy and paste from Microsoft Word to your web-based email?

b)      Are you seeing a toolbar on the Add post page?

c)       If you’re seeing the toolbar, before trying to paste, could you click in the text area below the toolbar and ensure that you see a blinking cursor there (this is obvious, I know)?

d)      Can you copy and paste from Microsoft Word to the subject line? This is to check whether the problem is only with the main text area.

e)      What operating system (e.g. Windows XP) are you using?

Still can't paste

I shut down and restarted my computer. I still can't paste anything into the window. I opened a fresh Word document, typed in a sentence and tried to paste it into the window. Nothing.

I don't have any trouble typing something directly into the window.

I have IE 6.0.2900.

Response

Blogit invested in upgrading its hosting facilities last year so that the Blogit site would be faster and more reliable, and you should not be experiencing any problems accessing the site.

Please try restarting your computer. If you continue to have a problem pasting into your Add Post window, please let us know what browser (including its version number) and what operating system you are using.

Please also let us know if you are able to write directly into your Add Post window or if that is a problem as well.

Thank you.
