No way to know until it happens. Evolution does not head in any direction. It just happens. If we need individualistic harmony to survive then we will see those who live such lives be the survivors and spread their genes. If for some reason the 'pack mentality' is what will survive best, then we will be stuck with much of our population following the pack.
I person go for the individualistic harmony thing, but we can only wait and see what happens.
