It seems to be a minutely worked out script

A script. I suppose I don't really think in terms of scripts--not that I think in terms of novels either, but I've been training myself to do that, as opposed to the former. A member of our theatre company is an aspiring writer, and has so far written two one-act plays that have been performed here as workshops. I have had no burning desire to follow in his footsteps. But if I do, I will probably use my blog as my notebook, as I am currently for this idea for a novel I have.

Sassy
I've actually done a bit of reworking, and while it's not the gem I came up with before it's still something I think the owner will like (I've got my fingers crossed)

Another idea for the extra characters would be
to make them nameless bystanders. Having less characters will give you more room for developing the main characters anyway. Just thinking about the job ahead of you gives me a headache.

Congrats!
Yes, too many characters is not a good thing. Sounds like you have some killing off to do, and quick!

Thanks. Actually I've found that the more I don't force it but just think funny stuff, the quicker they come.

Hope you got the important points
down before you lost them. Go for it. Here's wishing you inspiration and a stroke of brilliance with your script.
