I tried the notepad method and it worked...thanks.
I've tried the other two suggestions before, and they haven't worked - must be something weird with my computer. Thanks for all suggestions though.

Quicker and easier, I think...
Before you copy out of word, turn on the Paragraph Markings (ctrl-shift-8), then you'll be able to see if you're taking the next set of formatting after the last thing you typed. (Just like if you arrow to the end of the page instead of hitting Return, you'll be in a different font or size.
Best bet, just stay right next to the first letter and the last letter, or period, to avoid picking up extra formatting.
I know the Notepad method is sure proof, but, who wants to launch another program just to cut and paste?

I paste mine in from Word in Times New Roman. Then I do...
Control A to select all, then choose Verdana from "Font Style" and 2 from "Font Size." In other words, I paste it in, then select the font and the size. Works every time.

It sounds like some of the formatting is being copied over as well when you copy and paste into your blog entry. The easiest way to remove all formatting is by following these steps:
1. Highlight the text. Choose Copy from the Edit menu.
2. Open Notepad. Notepad is in the Start menu, under Programs > Accessories.
3. Choose Paste from the Edit menu. The text will be pasted without formatting.
4. Highlight the text in Notepad. Choose Copy from the Edit menu.
5. Now, you can paste the text without formatting into the "Add post" page.
Hope that helps!
