"Lost Art", very good.

But to cap the well of "silly looking bimbos" (or "Women posed as silly bimbos"), the all-time winner:

"Blind Faith" (original or British version...check out the model's eyes' pupils!).

I agree with mary_x on the Boston covers. Then there's the Stones'

Sticky Fingers.  The Scorpions Lovedrive (original, not American censored) is great, as is UFO's Force It.  Al DiMeola's Kiss My Axe is great, as is Whipped Cream and Great White's Once Bitten, Twice Shy and Hooked albums.  April Wine's Nature Of The Beast is cool.  Foghat's Fool For The City is awesome.

Man, I could go on for days.  I have a massive collection of albums and CDs.  It's pretty much a lost art now, unfortunately.

For some reason, whenever i think of album art...
i think of the velvet underground's cd w/ the banana on it.  i just like the simplicity

Any Album by the band 'Yes' throughout the 70's

Strat

I totally forgot Bridge of Sighs.  Great work.  All of the other mentioned bring great memories. The few I don't know, I'm going to look up for sure.

In the Beatle's Line, I'd pick Abbey Road. I liked Zappa's, but they were always so busy, you had to be in the right frame of mind.

I was thinking about doing a book on album art years ago, but the idea of getting permission from so many sources seemed unlikely.  I still think it's a great idea.  I decorated the walls of my last office with album covers.

Hmmm, I was thinking about this -- too many cobwebs in my mind, also some of the good covers are for music I am not so into now.
I did think of Pink Floyd too - but it was Dark Side of The Moon not Money wasn't it?
I now buy most music online and so the album covers play no part. It's a shame really

Head East ... a long forgotten band from Texas ...
on the cover is a huge vegetable truck overflowing with freshly harvested marijuana plants.

The Donnas - four teenage jailbait sluts sitting at a table with dozens of empty shot glasses.

Pink Floyd - Money

Rolling Stones -- Sticky Fingers

Beatles - Sgt, Pepper on hallucinogins

I couldn't decide (as always) so I'm leveraging a three-for-one here:

Dead heat between:

1. The Monkees "Headquarters".(Big pun).

2. The Beatles "White Album". (Daring use of color and contrast)

3. Joni Mitchell's "Turbulent Indigo" (a veritable art gallery, actually).

And if you liked "Whipped Cream", you'll love:

Al Dimeola's "Kiss My Axe".

(ouch)

Miss album cover art fer sure!
How about Trower's Bridge of Sighs or The Who By Numbers?

Of course, Hacker's got a good one, too -- "None, none more black..."

Terp I think one of my favorites
is the Eagles-On the Border, it looks like it was done in color pencil.

Terpgirl,
Oh, man, you took the words out of my mouth: Whipped Cream by Herb Alpert.  My mom belonged to the Columbia record of the month club, a real scam, but she got a lot of cool albums.  I'd say, next favorite: Boston, I can't think of the name, but all of the Boston albums.
