It seems we all know someone with this terrible affliction. Glad to hear you managed to escape though!

You must be right, because you see, MY opinion is always correct, and I think your opinion is correct. So you're in the clear.

Hacker
My ex-husband is similarly afflicted with this dread disease. For nearly 15 years he "borrowed" my opinions on everything from religion to sports, to what truly is the more absorbent tampon?....I could take no more. I think ...like you, in that it stems from a total lack of security in one's beliefs. So..before I left him I made sure to insert a Tampax in his uhh mouth of word. Everyone knows, it really is the most absorbent.

Good to know I'm not the only person to come across folks with this affliction.  Thankfully, I'm quite opinionated.  And more to the point, my opinions are always right.  I'll fight you if you say otherwise.

Unid'd Hacker,
Maybe the Caribbean University of Social Research. You could snorkel between writing grant applications, focus groups, writing papers and conferences. Conferences, of course, would only be held in tropical locations.

Oh yes. The red eyes are coming to get you! Bwahahaha! Well, actually not really. At least I hope not. I kind of need them here where I am.

Shucks! And I thought my new disease discovery would surely be accepted as genuine and good. Defeated by the suffixes.

UH,

I doubt you'll get much research support or funding for this disease, it works too well to the advantage of the status quo:  call it what you will:  going with the flow, herd mentality, mob mentality, popularity, wanting to be "in", liked, it's more common than not.

You could write a little book of new words or diseases.
So funny, I love this one.  Hopefully I'll remember it.  I have no memory....make one up for that.  Red eye, huh?  That's it.  Too scary for me, I'm outta here.  ;)

I think using 'itis'

you couldn't do muchopinionitis...you could have acute opinionism for too many/much? or plain opinionitis for trouble with your opinions? but I know there are those who remember their suffixes better than I.

Numi Numi
Hmm, perhaps you have Muchopinionitis?
Or maybe motormoutherhea?

I guess I'd have to know more spefics of the symptoms =P. And hey, I'd say having too many opinions is a bit better than having none at all, you know?
