Blogit does not prevent your photos from showing up even if they are hosted elsewhere.
To include photos on your Blogit blogs you need to have your photos hosted on a photo site that will allow you to link to them from elsewhere, or you may use Blogit to host your photos by upgrading to the Blogit Silver or Gold subscription plans.
The reason why your photos may not be showing up is because the site where you have your photos hosted (especially free sites) may not allow you to link to them from another site such as Blogit.
While there is no discount available for earlier subscribers you may continue to have the number of blogs you have with your Classic Blogit Basic subscription.

I am having a similar problem
my pics are hosted elsewhere and not showing up on blogit.
don't I need a premium membership to host on blogit though?
I am a member for over 2 years and want to keep my old rate.

You're having this problem because you're not using Blogit's hosting system for your photos. It appears you are adding photos that are hosted on a third party site that does not allow you to link to photos from another site like Blogit.
For the photo hosting available via the Blogit Silver and Gold subscription plans please first upload those photos to your Blogit account.
There are two parts to doing this:
1. Go to your My Account page and click on "View/edit pictures" or "View/edit member pictures" depending on the pictures you're uploading.
2. Once there, click on "Add a picture"
3. Browse your computer for the picture you want to upload to your Blogit account.
4. Click on the "Save & Add" button
5. Repeat if appropriate.
Now click on the name of the picture you want to include and copy the location of it by copying the URL that shows up in your web browser's address field. You may wish to save this URL in a Word or Text document so that you can easily find it for the second part.
1. Now go back to your Write page.
2. Click on "Add post" to add a new piece of writing.
3. Use the "Insert picture" icon on your toolbar and include the location of the photo by copying and pasting in the URL you had saved.
4. Make sure to click on the "Save & Post" button once you're done writing that new blog post.
