?? I sent a comment to day and it disappeared
To whit, "Naw, it's the comments. And the money!" or some such.

I think it is the thing about writing for a regular audience which is compelling

Majroj, or perhaps where are the readers/clickers? Idiocy, when I get to that stage, I hope I leave. Nothing worse than something beyond the sell-by day

Sorry..."pass-time", not "past time".
("past-time" irks me as much as ""underway" [versus the correct "under weigh"], and substituting "oral exam" for "verbal exam").

As you could see, I had nothing to say

But now..

The "gotta blog daily" (or hourly or constantly) phase is reached fairly early in the blogging life cycle, and can lead to burnout, burnout with occasional renaissance, or gibbering idiocy. Also divorce, missing children, and kitchen fires.

It seems part of this past time's appeal is hardwired into our heads; it's fun to make faces into the mirror, and it's fun to anonymously make noises and others make them back...sort of.

Wait until the "Where did all the comments go?" phase hits.

Tapsel-T, even in one's own mind it is possible to escape the mundane

MayB - There is a lot of good stuff out there to see and do.   You don't have to settle for the mundane.

MayB, Have you thought of a dictaphone while driving and/or waiting for "cabbie" patrons?... I went to a convention center today to see about online jobs for moms... I'm not a mom, but so what... I'm not a kid either, and I've tried the happy meals... at any rate, none of it... the convention center info. - not the happy meals, was what I was looking for, except this one person gave me an idea for an e-zine for STUPID people who fall for this garbage... when I'm finished investigating, I'll have lost the entire day and will cast it aside and get back to writing... who knows, maybe I will learn something...

pretty good there, MayB!
which only supports the notion that you'll always have ideas.

Ca88andra, it is like being old before your time living in the past at those parties isn't it? It's crazy the sports things. Parents criss-cross cities the world over driving children to sport

posted by Azur on May 14, 2005 at 2:57 AM | link to this | reply

I hate those timewarp parties and anything to do with fancy dress! I will join you any time with the fine dining. But I guess what we really have in common is being the taxi driver to sporting activities!

Is it truly an addiction MayB?
My day doesn't feel complete unless I post something and sometimes, when I can't sleep at night, I try to think of something to blog about the next day. But even if I am not out doing sumthin..which is almost all of the time right now...it's kind of a personal challenge to come up with sumthin.

Mayb,

that's the truth.  How to find the balance between thinking and living? Never mind, if I have to ask, she said, while blogging, clearly I'm not getting it.

Don't we over-analyze life nowadays. We are so busy thinking about it we haave no time to do anything

posted by Azur on May 13, 2005 at 8:31 PM | link to this | reply

Mayb,
Nope, don't read anything into that. I'm only speaking for myself.  Besides, didn't someone say that
"The unexamined life isn't worth living?"

Mayb,
Isn't there a form of poetry that used to consider grocery lists high art, Dadaism or something like that? It's all about style.

Mary x, are you telling me I am addicted? If I appear on the "most comments" lists then I know I am in trouble. It is my ambition not to appear there ever

Many folks,
myself include veiw posting a daily blog like a commitment. But it should be fun too, not just a habit. But I'd probably read this if it was your grocery list... :)

Mayb,
I have got to get a handle on my blogging addiction, if I get on in the morning, and tell myself I will do the dishes "later", somehow the dishes and laundry are suffering.  Besides, you do have a point that there is nothing to write about if does nothing but write.  However, I feel as if I have about 40 years of experiences bursting to be written and explored.
