I understand this problem of syntax
That is why, when I am writing, when I am presented with a choice of words, I choose the simpler word, the word that more people will understand without consulting a dictionary. This is my way of trying to connect with more people.
The English language is very frustrating in this regard, for it has 3 or 4 words for the same thing. When presented with a choice, I always choose the word that the most people will understand.
