Symph,
I'm glad to hear that your accent is Cockney.  Most of the British accents that I have heard were on television or movies, and Cockney was always the most fascinating to me.  Two of my in-law relatives have British accents, one Welsh, the other Australian.  They both have an accent that is very similar to Cockney, but not as strong.  I like any of them that have a Cockney flavor.  The ''sophisticated'' ones sound too poofy.
                   JJ   Have a good day.

Symph,

The best way to do all of that is quite easy.  A friend showed me how to do it.

First, lay a piece of plastic pipe out in the back yard.  It's real cheap stuff.  Get about 1 1/2 inch diameter pipe.  Next, pile all the stuff from in the house on top of the pipe in the back yard.  When it's all there, get hold of about four sticks of dynamite.  I'm not sure where you can get them over there, but if you can't, take the gunpowder out of about one box of shotgun shells.  Push the sticks, or the powder, about 1/2 the way down the pipe so it is about midway under the pile.

Rig a fuse, and a cap if you're using sticks.  Light the fuse and run round the other side of the house.  Wait until you hear a loud ''bang'' and walk back round to the pile.  Presto!!  Problem gone.

Cleaning time is cut by an easy 50-75% ........   JJ      Your Problem Solving Man

Wow, this blog tired me out. Now, I'm looking around this house and I notice that its not perfect. Will you come clean my house? I'm sure that you do it much better then I could ever do it. Did I get you confused? In your confusion have you agreed to clean my house?

Symph....

When you are in this type of mood, COME TO MY HOUSE !

I can't stand clutter either and find it stressful to be around a place that is messy. But getting the time to get it done is another thing !

Way to Go, Symph!

Symphony,
I think you're right on about the connection between a messy environment and stress: I can't think straight in a cluttered environment, but I tend to overthink each item as I figure a place to put it, so that pulls me in and keeps me from being efficient about the whole. That's the story of my life.  Your insights about the parts of the home and the metaphors the kitchen, hallway, and living room inspire me for a poem that I'm working on about housekeeping, the home, emotions and a balanced life.   You go!

We seem to accumulate more clutter in this age. Consumer greed, freebies, hoarding etc.

PSSST, Hey Symphony. Don't let too many people find out about your
cleaning habits. They might invite you over to the house for tea, spike your drink, then have you clean their house for free. Uhh,  by the way, how do you take your tea,1 sugar or 2 ? LOL

Hehe

You are not alone with the bug. I have pulled down all of my mini blinds and valances for cleaning. My windows are sparkling and I am having my couch cleaned. I also plan on tidying up the yard and planting some flowers.  The spring cleaning bug has hit me from the first 70 degree day that hit us.
