I'm with you on that one.

No matter how many times I read Shakespeare, I walk away with a different angle on the words.  I've always felt sorry for people who can't read deep into words of that magnitude. There's always something new waiting for you.

Terpgirl
All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players:
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages. At first the infant,
Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms.
And then the whining school-boy, with his satchel
And shining morning face, creeping like snail
Unwillingly to school. And then the lover,
Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad
Made to his mistress' eyebrow. Then a soldier,
Full of strange oaths and bearded like the pard,
Jealous in honour, sudden and quick in quarrel,
Seeking the bubble reputation
Even in the cannon's mouth. And then the justice,
In fair round belly with good capon lined,
With eyes severe and beard of formal cut,
Full of wise saws and modern instances;
And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts
Into the lean and slipper'd pantaloon,
With spectacles on nose and pouch on side,
His youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide
For his shrunk shank; and his big manly voice,
Turning again toward childish treble, pipes
And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
Is second childishness and mere oblivion,
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.

Jacques - from Shakespeare's 'As you like it.'

My Favourite Quote...
...of all time comes from Steven Wright.

"The brain is a wonderful organ; it starts working the moment you get up in the morning and doesn't stop until you get to work."

Hi terp
Movies and music have always moved me tremendously. I like music with great lyrics. My favorite band is counting crows and they have this great love song call murder of one and what makes it great is that he shows you he is in love but he doesn't tell you. I don't think the word love is used once but you get the point. There is another great love song call Anna begins although the word love is mentioned he doesn't dwell on it and once again shows you it is a love song and doesn't beat you over the head with I"m in love I"m in love I'm in love, I love you type lyrics. HE does that in Accidentally in love by the way but what the hell that's a shrek 2 song I guess he was suppose to make it obvious. There are two lines from Anna begins which stand out with me everytime she sneezes I believe it's love/Oh lord I'm not ready for this sort of thing. I Love that, I know exactly what he means by that sneezing comment, it's about being so in love that you just find everything that the person does to be endearing and every interest that they have you take as a sign that they are meant for you, it's about that exhiliration of hope you feel when you are in love and then the oh lord line is about that oh shit what do I do with it now that I may have it feeling that we go through. A favorite movie line of mine is from Torch SOng trilogy and Anne bancroft says "there are no permanent problems, only permanent solutions". I think my comment was longer than my blog.

words/music
Abbie Hoffman started nominating Bob Dylan for a Nobel in Literature eons ago.  He gets mentioned as in the running, but he has no hope.  There's a lot of debate on this.  Most people don't have a problem with a category for this specifically, but balk at lyrics as literature.  I've always disagreed.  Some of the most poignant writing comes through lyrics, in my opinion.
