Straight, part of the problem is that
time just seems to slip right away. Those deadlines make life hell, but they do keep us in order.

Can identify. Seems pretty much the way I work as well.
I try to give myself deadlines by telling editors that I intend writing a particular article and then they call to say the deadline for that article is on a particular date and that I had better write in fast.

Ja, during my first couple of months here,
I wrote a whole lot of blogs and read a whole lot too and did lots of socializing. The nature of blogit lends itself to a high level of interaction, which is very, very distracting if writing is a priority. The trouble is blogit is just so much fun and too many of us spend way too much time here dropping in on our friends at all hours during the day and night. The thing is that eventually all of us have to just stop, drop everything and write that darn article. Find the time and get it done. Think about all that good money you will be making and go write. 
Don't come back til you're at least half way done.

I am having such a problem disciplining myself to write, right now too. Oh sure, I come here to blog but why does it take so much effort to write an article that I
know what I will be paid to do it? I thought being on here would help keep my ideas flowing and make it easier. What do you do when it gets like this for you? Great reading!
