I just saw Steppenwolf a few years ago
They did that song. I didn't know the FCC jumped in on that.
I would have thought the FCC would get in on it, too. Like I said, the FBI investigated this thing 2 years. I would have thought that would have put an end to it.

somewhere there are lyrics
how high the moon
sorry -- getting songs entangled here
and as i recall the lyrics weren't obscene
it was on one of those MTV things --
anyway -- the music's one of those rousers -- gets the crowd going -- fun song
the only words anyone can understand are "Louie -- "looee oo ay ae" and "we gotta go".
I would think the FCC would have taken care of those lyrics.
they squelch a whole lot of other things -- like "Snow Blind Friend", by Hoyt Axton, performed by Steppenwold, about the dangers of cocaine.
then they let a lot of other stuff by that's a whole lot worse.

TerpGirl30, a lot of those nice Catholic-school girls I used to know also
loved "Louie, Louie." Every time that song played, they started pulling off their little blue sweaters and ... er... so on and so forth.

Even all that aside...
It's coming out of a marching band! How crazy is that? Is the tuba player taking a break to sneak those evil lyrics in?
Sure, Suzie has gun in her locker, and Bobby is being carried out on a stretcher, passed out on the drug of the day (what I saw my first week in my suburban middle school), but dammit, we've cleaned up that wayward marching band.
I'm sorry, I shouldn't laugh, but people are crazy. Maybe I should change the Header I use here. People are crazy seems to be I seem to gravitate to.
You know some high school is playing stuff from Rammstein...all in German. How do they know what is being said? My mother loves them. My son is fluent in German, and started hinting to her that the song isn't exactly what she's used to. It was a funny moment. I guess he shouldn't have told her on her birthday. I don't see my mom staging an offensive at the local school district to make sure Rammstein is kept under wraps for the protection of local school children.

TerpGirl30, "Louie, Louie," is one of my all-time favorite songs & in my
opinion, it's the greatest "party jam" in history. I am angry and disgusted over it's being banned by those "authorities."
