Twodog, you are right, she should face the consequences of her behaviour -- last night they showed on the news that the Wisconsin college girl that did a similar thing is paying off a $ 9,000.00 bill to the city and state at $ 250.00 per month.

The Runaway Bride

To me, as trite as this may sound, the runaway bride and the consiquence of the act is the same as any adult that allows their inappropriate behavior to affect those around them. No one was hurt? Excuse me, she was supposed to marry someone, wasn't she? Her family, his family, friends, were worried, scared, terrified something happened to her, like rape, mutililation and death. Emotional suffering isn't a hurt? I do believe it is. Loose your kid in WalMart, and see how bad it hurts until you find her or him.

Everyone always has an excuse for inappropriate behavior, from the run away bride to the mother that stabbed her children, a boy and a girl, two hundred times apiece, or the mother that strapped her two children into the car seats, in the back seat of her car, then drove it into a lake, or the woman, over an extended amount of time, drowned her children, five was it?, in the bathtub of her bathroom. Post partum depression my rosey red man's behind.

The run away bride is a woman, not some sixteen year old kid, she had a choice, she could have toned things down, but, she didn't. Instead, she disappeared, and terrified not only the man she was supposed to marry, but, her family, his family, their friends and yes, the world.

Perhaps she would have a different attitude if she was forced to face the consiquence of her behavior,

What do you think?
