You're hitting all the favorites

Masters of War has always been such a powerful piece of writing.  I'm always annoyed when Dylan is overlooked for the Nobel.  I'm a writer by trade. I note that because writers tend to be the group that says Dylan does lyrics, and lyrics aren't writing.  To that, I say a pretty inelegant "huh?"  Poetry to music.  I guess the Nobel people don't want to start a trend.  Dylans stuff tends to go far beyond lyrics, don't you think?  Most lyrics are fairly simple (though some simple in length but profound in idea).  With Dylan, if you look at the lyrics as theyr'e written, you see an expansive, thought-out poem that happens to have music set ot it.

Since this is a category, I have a question for the others who come here:  does your favorite song/lyrics change?  Positively Fourth Street was an anthem for me in high school.  Over the years, and the days within the years, I'm finding that my favorite depends on what sort of stage my life is in.  Gotta Serve Somebody hit just at the time I had the same questions going on.  Regardless, I always find something that fits the moment in time for me. That's great writing, in my opinion.
