I see your point, pappy
so true freedom lies in relinquishment of our rules for finding and having what we think freedom is.

yes, the ego cannot help but think to itself, 'I want more.'

Not all freedom is helpful, avant
Men seek freedom from all constraints because they wish to make the rules. We are free because of the rules which allow it, and so we worship the rules, and the Ruler.

yes, but it is so extremely difficult to get to this place and remain truly human.... and yet, the easiest thing as well....  if only there was a switch that made us detached at loving at the same time...

great comment, ciel
and that is true. when we see that there is a choice, then we can experience the ego emotions in a more stable way.

This is the perpetual cycle between the interests of the body--survival

versus the interests of the spirit-- unencumbered flight!  The real trick is to reconcile them, and live the best life one can as one who is both human and being...  So I believe...

there's really no difference, RAME
but it involves choosing between love and fear. it is made very quickly, in the moment of perception. we have been taught to choose fear so regularly that it has become automatic. unconscious. experiencing the feelings of guilt, fear, anger, remorse, sadness, indicates that fear has been chosen.

Avant,
I guess your idea of freedom is different than mine. I guess I think that freedom means you have the freedom to make choices or not. God gave us free will for a reason and I feel that we should use our free will in the best way we possibly can. FREE WILL (Get it? Free is in freedom.)
