I saw that Jimmy Stewart movie at the Vagabond Theater...
in LA which specialized in old movies. The innocence and sincerity of the film was heartbreaking! But I don't think that today's politicians are necessarily more devious and underhanded than the leaders of that time. It's merely that the public, through the mass media, has become much more aware of their dirty tricks.
