Very interesting tidbit!
Guess that's one of the reasons I love Lincoln.  Thanks for contributing that.  It tells us things about both men.

Grant
Known to be a heavy drinker, there were complaints about this habit of his to President Lincoln during the Civil War. Lincoln's response was that whatever Grant was drinking should be sent to the other Union generals.
