Scoop nails it dead on the money!

Absolutely correct! The courts must follow the law. That is exactly what the Florida courts did not do in 2000. That is exactly what the Supreme Court did do as a result. And that is exactly what the federal appeals court in the Schiavo case did not do when it refused to comply with Congressional instruction to hear an appeal.

To take it a step further - the courts must follow the law, not make the law. The Florida court made law in how it handled the 2000 election. particularly in making its rulings retroactive. The federal appeals court essentially made law in their rejection of due process and reasonable doubt in the Schiavo case.

It was a flip remember, the Republicans loved the courts in Nov 2000
but then turned on them when they would not play the Schiavo game. They are only happy when the courts work for them. The courts must work the law not what the demos or repubs want.

Writeroflight,

Are you aware that the Legislative Branch has recourse against the Judiciary Branch of our Government? There is something wrong with Bill Frist, Tom Delay and that whole Republican "Crime" Syndicate in Congress! What is this great "Press" looking at? They spend great resources covering Michael Jackson. Why not on the political corruption in DC? If they and you have a problem with the Judicary. Why not be specific?
