i am referring to the ego, jeremy
it is the ego, or our self-image, which sees itself as 'needing' something. it first sees itself without, which is from associating with things outside itself. then it attempts to 'do' something to that outer object, in order to secure the need. for instance, a person who has abandonment issues 'feels' unloved. they have concluded that 'i am unloved, or i would have not been abandoned.' then they seek love in a very hungry way. others see the desperation, the complete lack of control and are turned off. thus, the person who feels abandoned creates more abandonment by wanting love. it is what the mind does when it associates with a body and believes that to be its real 'self'.

hi avant

"When we 'need' them no longer, we are free. We are being 'true' to ourselves."
this is from the end of your blog.I can think of a few ways to look at this.It seems government places requirements for people to do most everything to get by in society, like car, insurance, rules, safety.I ask myself do I need anyone?I do to see my faults, like seeing anothers mistake and what I really see is my own as I have understood. The  word need can cover much, can you explain this further. In reading your blogs it seems when I can say that is right I see it as my interpretation, yet I often wonder how often my interpretation is off from the lines or insights you give?but this would be asking you to rewrite your blogs over which would give more of that which I ask.

thankyou

it's hard to distinguish truth when preference is interfering.

Avant -
Ahhhh, the Truth will set you free. If only people would believe this, we'd be a more enjoyable world.
