spitfire's words are wise ones.

Most dreams are more about the dreamer.  Jung did believe that the dead could speak to us through dreams (that whole "collective unconscious" thing) but it's not easy to determine.  If the analyst is stumped for a meaning of a given dream involving a departed one, that dream is a candidate for a "message from beyond" classification.  But it's still not sure.  Jung in his studies would coordinate scores, hundreds of dreams seek interpretations among his colleagues.  Sometimes there'd be this one dream in a set of dreams from the same patient that none of the analysts could get.  That's the dream from the dead person being dreamt about.

Of course, Jung could have just been covering his ass...

Mia,
Dreams can sometimes actually be messages from the spirit realm, but can also often mean nothing at all. This recent dream may just be because it was on your mom's mind before she went to sleep. Regardless of what it really is, you can't live in fear. We are all here to try and fulfill certain purposes and learn certain things. When that quest is finished, so is this physical life; at age 5, 25, 50, or 90. The other side is our "Home" and there is nothing to fear about going back there. Just live your life now as happy as you can.

Mia,
You are in my prayers.  I am sorry for you that things have been so challenging.  I don't have any answers, but I hope you distress is a false alarm.

lovelymonk,
I'm flying by myself to Chicago...I'm not going to see my sister but a friend....just scared to fly alone....

Mia...

You're in my prayers, Sweetie.  May I ask what your sister's condition is?  I understand if it's too private for you to talk about here.

Have a good time in Chicago with your sister...I know it's hard, but try not to be so fearful that you can't enjoy the time you have with her.

I know we don't know one another very well...But I've always been told I'm a pretty good listener.  If you ever need someone to talk to...I'd be happy to add you to my IM list...Only if you're comfortable, of course.  Please let me know if I can do anything to help you.  Keep me posted...I'll be thinking of you.

God bless.

I hope that it is not a sign...you have had enough to deal with lately

MiaElla, Even if it is a sign,
it's out of our hands.  The old wives tale in the south is that if you dream someone is pregnant, than someone's going to die, and vice versa. Good luck to your niece. I know the last thing she(and you) needs is another traumatic event.  Take care

uni,

I should add one thing...I've never been afraid of a plane crashing when I'm flying with someone else...I'm 100% confident I will be all right. It's me by myself....because I see that happening in my mind...whether it is real or not. Whether it is a valid fear or not.
