Yes, they told us those things at film school. Yet when I was working in a Disney Studios script library, there were a couple of most definite "writer inspired" story covers.

CarolynMoe, well writers want to look the part don't they? The only hint I have is to stick to submission guidelines re presentation. Editors, teachers, literary agents hate fiddly stuff. You should see some of my students, they hand in stuff in pretty, fiddlty folders, 1 and a half spaced with no margins.

I just so happened to have invested in about 25 burgundy, linen report covers for a collection of my shorties, and some humgo submit, SASE envelopes today at Staples.  $68 bucks and that's not even postage.  I don't even know if those covers are appropriate for submissions.  Oh well, I'll have them.  I'm overwhelmed with the marketplace, but I'm studying the 2005 Writer's Market and will be Googling a lot from here on out.  No more of this "non-published writer" business for me... post well-taken.
