Perfection
I agree with you about perfection. If you check my post for today (May 5) I also posted something about perfection. People can find their individual 'self' perfection and just be the best that you can be.

it's like the carrot in front of the donkey
always just out of reach
or maybe it's like a mirage of an oasis in the desert
nothing really -- just an illusion
problem with perfection is
if you compare yourself to it, you are so pitifully imperfect.
problem with modern Christians is that
they expect perfection to exist
you don't see that anywhere in Yeshua's or Paul's words -- not really.
just in the King James, whose authors perceptions of things derived from several centuries of such perception, which was imperfect for sure.

Empty – We can make some progress
toward perfection; it is just that our progress is so minor in terms of the vast distance it will take to actually arrive act perfection. But, as you say, perfection looms largely before us as our proper goal.

I agree with you
that the concept of perfection comes from within ones self, not others. I agree with you that each person should seek their own concept of perfection within themselves. I contend, and it cannot be denied, that the concepts of perfection engendered by different people contain a basic core of similarity that includes concepts like compassion, truthfulness, honesty, etc. I agree with you that perfection in these areas is not presently attainable, and contend only that the CONCEPT of perfection exists. Further, this CONCEPT carries great power and influence and, by virtue of its manifestation in all men, is rightly recognized as a Universal Spirit.
