Temple:
Close. W.A.R. is White Aryan Resistance.
Stone City is about (let me see if memory serves me after 15 years, a ton of true crime shows, Court TV, all the plots of the CSIs and the Law & Orders and Without A Traces, not to mention the books, fiction and non) a man who killed someone, his wife or his wife's lover (or both), I beleive. He is in prison for life. He is very intelligent and barters his knowledge for security and power. He tutors, teaches other prisoners to read, writes letters for others, etc. It gains him a kind of autonomy without having to become affiliated. But it doesn't keep him from gaining enemies.
It is a gripping novel, witten by Mitchell Smith in 1990. I need to reread it. What I recall the most about the book is the feeling of total personal isolation and helplessness. An insulating retraction into oneself that prison life forces upon you. The fear and the violence. And an ending that will blow you away.

Ah, I see...
No, I haven't read it. It's been a while since I've done any real study on it. Last I knew, NLR was taking over in prison (for the white boys) because they were so outrageously violent. I was studying the effect of the Mexican Mafia's orders on street gangs of all hispanic origin, things like that. But, it's been a while. What's the book about?

Temple: maybe I was unclear, being my sarcastic self.
I don't have any doubt he'll be recieved well, but "preaching to the choir," old hands that already know the code of white supremacy. I have read extensively on the prison social system myself. It is a very interesting micro-culture. Have you ever read
Stone City?

I'm not sure why you think the AB wouldn't like him...
They'll recruit him. The Nazi Lowriders are actually the premier white supremecy gang in prisons, they don't exist much on the street now....but they are working on it. I'm not sure where he's going, but he'll have allies. They may not like him because he "pussed out" and he'll be tested....because he actually put himself on the same side as the judge saying they were really the victims there. He'll have to prove himself either way, and it won't be fun. And yes, likely in the shower. (I studied prison gangs in law school)
