Littlemspickles, now they say that I must do 39 hours of marking which falls within my contract then I can be paid a marking rate. They are not too upfront about that when they hire you. To do 39 hours is to give up a week's work.

Has anything further come of this?
It sounds pretty unfair - that is a lot of hours needed for marking.

Isn't it strange that people seem to think that if you do it for money (doesn't matter what "it" is) that you are a bad person?  And so if they don't pay good they will attract better people...

MayB - I've said before and say again - teachers are way underpaid
and way under-appreciated. Kudos to you for all your work.
